Driving a clean, green, cheap car you built by yourself : Priceless.
This is what Texas teenager Lucas Laborde is telling his classmates this fall.
The 17 years old spent last summer converting a conventional gas-powered kit car to run on batteries. And it works !
Though Lucas experienced a few surprises during the conversion, his car is highway-ready, capable of travelling 40 miles between charges, at a top speed of 45mph, and heaps of low-end torque.
